Going through
papers I have gathered during 18 years of Revolution, I stumbled upon one
written by Elias Jaua, in 2002. Jaua is the current Minister of Education and
was former Vice-President of Venezuela. In his 2002 paper, Jaua criticizes
going backwards in the recognition of rights to the people. He shows
astonishment towards any kind of violation of human rights. Ignoring all of
that, now that Maduro is the one diminishing almost to its disappearance all
human and democratic rights in Venezuela, he supports the Maduro´s initiative
to convene a Communal Constituent Assembly, without prior consult to the people.
Maduro has
decided to do without the consent of the People of Venezuela, because they
majority is openly adverse to his disastrous performance. The highest inflation
rate in the world. The highest rate of murders in America. There is hunger and
shortage of medicines. No right to protest, in the facts. Already 72 protesters
have been assassinated for protesting. And in the most horrible ways. Excuse
me. It´s 74. A friend just called to tell me that one additional teenager, Fabián
Urbina,17 years oldwas shot dead with bullets form the National Guard, to his
chest and Edgard Carrillo,16, fights for his life with a bullet in his stomach.This
happened minutes ago, in today´s (June 19, 2017) protest in Caracas.
